After I upgraded to MongoDB 3.0 I get the following error;
>> Account.text_search('test').first Moped::Errors::OperationFailure: The operation: #<Moped::Protocol::Command @length=92 @request_id=15 @response_to=0 @op_code=2004 @flags=[] @full_collection_name="park.$cmd" @skip=0 @limit=-1 @selector={:text=>"accounts", :search=>"test", :filter=>{}} @fields=nil> failed with error 59: "no such command: text"
It looks like they removed the $text command.
Is there a better way to use the text search feature now?
