      WiredTiger added support for release mode enabled diagnostic assertions as part of PM-2897. As part of this ticket, the server initialisation of WiredTiger should be updated to support opening WiredTiger with extra diagnostic configuration strings. A validator should also be added to ensure only valid diagnostic categories are accepted. Document the functionality accordingly.
