Yeah. I'm going to close this, feel free to reopen it or CDRIVER-1066 if we still have build issues after the PHP driver 1.2.0 release.

OK, so I'm mostly blocked by PHP mongodb extension 1.2.0 release (and so mongo-c-driver 1.5.0)

Compilation fails because the C Driver 1.3.5 tries to set BIO->init = 1, but BIO is a private struct in OpenSSL 1.1.

Hannes fixed this in 1.4.0, which calls the appropriate OpenSSL 1.1 function for setting the "init" member: CDRIVER-1066.
