 Description   

Hi guys, I am using 64-bit MongoDB in 64-bit Linux machine and i had configured 1million as backup to my server.The backup data size is "22.8 GB" and my MongoDB database size is "1.95GB".so guys,can you just make out a new feature of compression in MongoDB.The MySQL do have the compression feature,Why don't mongodb can have this feature?.If MongoDB going to have this feature,then it could one of the best Database i hope so...

Please read the notes in the ticket I linked to. The work is planned but not scheduled. There are some ideas in the current for alternatives in the meantime.

Hi Kyle Banker, I understood my issue is duplicated of someones but you haven't mentioned the status of the issue in that reporter's status so what is the status of the issue are u guys working on the feature compression?

This is not a C Driver issue, per se, but rather a server issue.
