The 1.1.x series ignores "passives" hosts from isMaster. This means any server with priority=0 will be willfully ignored and pretended to not exist. This can in certain cases cause the driver to report no available servers for secondary reads and/or failing to discover replicaset changes (such as primary changes). |

This is resolved in 1.2.0 – with the introduction of the SDAM spec |
