 Description

Via discussion on Slack w/ david.golub:

I think most Windows users prefer a standard *.msi over a non-standard third-party solution, especially if it installs the program under AppData instead of Program Files where programs are supposed to go.

luke.prochazka thanks. COMPASS-1405 might be a better place for this info to live... I've added a link there to the SFSC case, along with adding a link back to the COMPASS-1405 epic in SFSC.

Customer is requesting (00455412) the option to install under "Program Files" due to local security policy restrictions

When attempting to install the MongoDB Compass software on Windows, installation and execution of Compass fails due to HBSS Host Intrustion Prevention signatures which prevent the installation and execution of applications from the user profile (APPDATA).

The exceptions listed below were required to allow the installation and execution to succeed. Is there an installation package argument to run and/or install this software to a folder outside of the user's APPDATA? HBSS HIP is required for all DoD information systems and therefore should impact all DoD customers.

Installation: (Running DLL from User Profile)
Install files running from C:\USERS*\APPDATA\LOCAL\MONGODBCOMPASS**.EXE
are attempting to run .DLL located here
C:\Users*\AppData\Local\MongoDBCompass**.dll
