When formulating a $lookup stage, it is natural for the user to navigate to the from collection to confirm the data model. Compass discards any in-progress aggregation stages that the user had entered. This was as designed before the agg pipeline was introduced, but it seems like the wrong behavior now. I think Compass should retain state, and allow the user to clear it explicitly if they want to start over. |
