It appears GeoIP calculations are centered on 0 longitude instead of where the user's cursor/screen is. Thus when searches are near and cross the international date line results get noticeably slower and one gets odd behavior as one moves across it. See attached movie for example behavior. OGV format.
( Actually using Compass 1.15.2 but get error "Version with id '1.15.2' does not exist" when trying to specify the version in Jira. )
