 Description

In order to increase awareness and prevent serious mistakes for customers with many database servers having similar schemas and content, Compass should provide an obvious signal regarding the type of cluster or server being accessed, such as production, staging, QA, UAT, development or POC.

The signal to the Compass user should be obvious as soon as the database/collection navigation page is displayed.  One possible solution would be allowing the server status to indicate the hue of the Compass background.  Then a customer could configure the database servers according to an organization wide color coding, such as:

Type Hue
Production RED BACKGROUND
Staging  YELLOW BACKGROUND
QA ORANGE BACKGROUND
UAT BLUE BACKGROUND
Development GREEN BACKGROUND
POC PURPLE BACKGROUND
