OSX 10.12.6 for Compass
v3.6.9 for the target MongoDB (standalone) running on Ubuntu 14.04



 Description   

Steps to reproduce:

  • Spin up a standalone MongoDB instance with default settings
  • Use mongoimport to load the attached data set
  • Use compass to connect and try exploring the collection from the UI

Verified that problem is resolved using 1.17-beta.

I have tried using 1.17-beta.6 with my repro and it did not reproduce the problem. It does look like the problem is resolved in that version.

we did some significant performance improvements in 1.17 (will be released in GA soon) that will possibly address this issue. This is a major blocker for us and we have to fall back to using Robo3T which has no issue.
