Wrote this actually to the support (they pointed out to put it here) :
Hi, just came back from MongoDB.local and thought I have to give Compass another try, since many cool new features have been build-in now. BUT, I don’t get it, the main problem I had before is still there and its sooo simple to change and I do not even understand how anybody can life with it. The visibility of the collection names in the navigation bar to the left is not resizeable or at least scrollable. If you have collections starting with the same prefix you actually cannot see the important right part of the name. Why, what ?? ALL other MongoDB Clients I have been using are able to size up their left navigation bar. Only Compass is not able to do that. This simple missing “feature” – is it really a feature, I would call it common sense – makes Compass for us NOT USEABLE. What a pity. E.g. for some collections. companyname.factory.side.name1 companyname.factory.side.name2 companyname.factory.side.name3 companyname.factory.side.name4 companyname.factory.side.name5 … In Compass you only see companyname.factory.sid companyname.factory.sid companyname.factory.sid companyname.factory.sid companyname.factory.sid … Without words. Regards, Robert Weissmann |
