 Description

As COMPASS-2709 most UUID functionality is there but one is not working: ability to create new document fields of type UUID.

How to reproduce:

  1. Edit a document
  2. Add a new field
  3. Change the type: UUID is not listed

This is so unfortunate.

So this is closed as not a valid issue (instead of being scheduled for some future version), and users are forever expected to edit create/UUID fields by manually encoding in Base64 (is it?) and knowledge of internal $binary structure.

This is not something we support in list view but you can create/edit UUIDs in JSON mode:

Additional bug:

It is not possible to edit an existing UUID field.
