 Description

After downloading Compass to Vagrant running CentOS7, Compass would not run unless the --no-sandbox option was used.

mongodb-compass --no-sandbox

The error is "[3526:0212/211700.302011:FATAL:atom_man_delegate.cc(210)] Running as root without --no-sandbox is not supported. See https://crbug.com/63180.

Trace/breakpoint trap

[root@localhost ]mongodb-compass --no-sandbox    <—this starts Compass

    • Message: 21:17:40.964: Remote error from secret service: org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.UnknownMethod: No such interface 'org.freedesktop.Secret.Collection' on object at. path /org/freedesktop/secrets/collection/login"

Is this something that needs to be added to our online documentation for Installing Compass linux at https://docs.mongodb.com/compass/current/install ?

Looks like you are running Compass as root as in COMPASS-4429. Try running it not as root.
