 Description

Problem Statement/Rationale

What is going wrong? What action would you like the Engineering team to take?

Key truncation in document display isn't useful; instead, it can produce visually ambiguous keys (and doesn't even have tooltips to display the full key name). I can't actually think of a reason why a user would want key truncation in this view, since we aren't truncating values in kind, and if you have nested objects in a document we don't truncate the indentation in kind either.

Steps to Reproduce

How could an engineer replicate the issue you’re reporting?
(See attachment)
Insert a document with similar key names longer than 17 characters and then view them in Compass.

Expected Results

What do you expect to happen?
The ability to visually disambiguate between key names that aren't unusually long (18 characters is a reasonable length for a key name, for example).

Actual Results

What do you observe is happening?
Can't disambiguate.

Additional Notes

Any additional information that may be useful to include.

Hi milkie - thanks for reporting this. Fixed in COMPASS-5361 which should land in 1.31.0
