 Description

Problem Statement/Rationale

What is going wrong? What action would you like the Engineering team to take?

Viewing of Performance tab of Atlas cluster displays error when there is no true error. This may confuse the user. Providing information to review Atlas Metrics is better handling of this scenario.

Steps to Reproduce

How could an engineer replicate the issue you’re reporting?

Create Atlas M0 cluster.

View Performance tab.

See Command "currentOp" returned error"cannot do raw queries on admin in atlas error when there isn't any issue with the cluster or Compass.

Seems to display some metrics on the 2nd attempt to View Performance tab. However, still recommend User to connect to the Atlas UI Metrics page for much more detailed info.

Expected Results

What do you expect to happen?

User should be directed to Atlas Metrics.

No error message should be shown.

Actual Results

What do you observe is happening?

See Command "currentOp" returned error"cannot do raw queries on admin in atlas error when there isn't any issue with the cluster or Compass.

Additional Notes

Any additional information that may be useful to include.

Atlas is growing its customer base quickly. Should include testing in this environment as well.

As a new user I can confirm that this is confusing and concerning.

I am running Compass 1.32.2 on Windows 10 with an M0 cluster hosted in AWS.

I have not created any databases, collections, or users. Repeated attempts to view the tab produce the same error.

Besides the reported bug, this issue is slightly confusing because I can use the shell in the compass window as follows, and the query executes successfully.

use admin
db.currentOp()

felicia.hsieh@mongodb.com can you try again with 1.32, this may be a known bug that we fixed recently where old errors where not cleared for the performance tab.
