 Description

Problem Statement/Rationale

What is going wrong? What action would you like the Engineering team to take?

Please be sure to attach relevant logs with any sensitive data redacted.

Steps to Reproduce

How could an engineer replicate the issue you’re reporting?

Manually downloaded 1.32.3 (Auto-download is off) and installed

Connected to standalone mongod

Opened Log file from Help>Open Log File

Expected Results

What do you expect to happen?

See the latest Compass log file.

Used ls -alt to see the other Compass logs time-sorted.

Actual Results

What do you observe is happening?

Slightly older log file was displayed.

Additional Notes

Any additional information that may be useful to include.

Are the slightly older files' timestamps changed to the current timestamp when viewed but no edits have been made? Would prefer the logs be editable by Compass only as the owner to preserve inadvertent changes. More discussion may be needed here for file ownership.

felicia.hsieh@mongodb.com What are the actual things that happened here? Did you/the user open the log file directory, or access the log files in some other way? How are files being sorted? Are there any screenshots or similar?
