Compass does support $geoWithin queries but when trying (manually) to enter a $near query (see below) a red info point appears linking to the MongoDB Extended JSON docs page and the 'apply' button remains unavailable. Questions:

Changing this to a Task, as it is not a bug but a feature request. $near is currently not yet supported. |

thomasr can provide the answer to 1). for 2) we have the work planned but not scheduled so I can't give you a timeframe right now. Do you have a prospect or account asking for it? If so, a pain ticket and linked opportunity will help move it up the backlog faster. At the moment its a nice to have but we haven't had customer feedback to warrant implementing it over other known requests. |
