 Description

Problem Statement/Rationale

Unable to view index stats using the compass app but I can view the index stats using the ATLAS database.

Steps to Reproduce

This  is a database created by someone else which I am an Atlas Admin and have owner permissions on. On Atlas going to a collection and clicking on the indexes I can view index history. On Compass there is no index history

Expected Results

I expect to be able to view index history for a database that I have owner permissions for in Compass

Actual Results

I cannot view index history. When hovering over index usage there is the message "Either the server does not support the $indexStats command or the user is not authorized to execute it"

No problem, happy that you found the root cause!

Ah, this was it. I was using the database creators connection, however they seemed to have less permissions than me. Logged in with my own account and it was working.

Thank you sergey.petushkov@mongodb.com

Hi jontemcatton@gmail.com, as the error message says it doesn't look like you have enough permissions. Executing $indexStats requires the user to have privileges that include indexStats action, see documentation. Please check that the database user you are using in Compass has enough privileges
