 Description

Schema view suffers from latency in the UI.

Connecting to data.parts and using the best buy collection. We need to fix the follow issues:

  • When scrolling, the schema view hangs and is juttery. We should ensure that it is smooth to scroll the window up and down.
  • When clicking on the collection, the screen takes a couple of seconds to react and product the analysis screen. We should ensure that there is a loading screen immediately.
  • Tooltips take several seconds to appear. Tooltips should appear immediately. (May be resolved by COMPASS-995)

The purpose of this ticket is to use the performance tooling available in Electron devtools to identify current bottlenecks and create follow-up tickets for implementing those changes.

Discussed in Standup. This ticket needs a bit of surgery to make it more clear. Break off into a research ticket.

peter.schmidt and I decided that we'll complete COMPASS-995 and then checking the performance of the schema tab to see if any more work is required in this ticket. Putting this as blocked for now.
