 Description

Now that the releases/stable branch exists, it would be good to update github so that that was the default branch on the project. That way, clones of the project and people arriving at github will automatically see the stable version, not the development version.

Per verbal discussion we've agreed to do this.

My only concern, and it's relatively minor, is that people won't see the latest README file, which might be important to us for first impressions or new information (e.g. about RCs or server support).

All the install instructions reference releases/stable, so I feel if people work install master without reading docs, then they own that mistake.

As an alternative, what do you think about just putting a more prominent link at the top of the README to the releases/stable branch?

behackett, rassi, sam.rossi: what do you think?
