It's ridiculous how complicated they've made this. I'm reading https://docs.mongodb.com/manual/tutorial/install-mongodb-on-debian/#install-mongodb-community-edition and it's still complicated. Step number 2. Create a /etc/apt/sources.list.d/mongodb-org-3.4.list file for MongoDB. Create the list file using the command appropriate for your version of Debian: Debian 7 “Wheezy”? Debian 8 “Jessie”? I'm running Ubuntu 16.04. You should separate Debian users from Ubuntu users. |

Thank you for filing a DOCS ticket. Please see the Ubuntu Installation Tutorial. On the left-hand navigation bar it is just above the Debian tutorial. The second step provides the exact code to copy into the .list file for simplicity. You can find the 16.04 code there as well. |
