You should not require installation of the homebrew package manager. openssl is also available via macports. If already installed (as in my environment), a few commands get things working – $ sudo mkdir -p /usr/local/opt/openssl/lib $ sudo ln -s /opt/local/lib/libcrypto.1.0.0.dylib /usr/local/opt/openssl/lib $ sudo ln -s /opt/local/lib/libcrypto.1.0.0.dylib /usr/local/opt/openssl/lib There might be a better sequence – possibly just symlinking the directory /usr/local/opt/openssl/lib to the directory /opt/local/lib ... possibly changing the linkage within the mongosqld and/or mongodrdl libraries. |

Thank you for your suggestion. There are a few ways to install OpenSSL on macOS (source, MacPorts, Homebrew), but Homebrew installs OpenSSL with the least complicated way. That does not mean that we do not support, allow or encourage other installation methods. It only means that we selected then documented a method that accomplishes the task with the least potential for complication or error. Thank you again, Anthony T. Sansone |
