It's ambiguous what the following means: "and <DATABASE> with the name of the database to which you wish to connect" Ultimately this whole idea of the DB name in MongoDB is a little counter-intuitive for a new user. I wonder if we can come up with a good catch-all for this getting started page ToDo: https://docs.mongodb.com/manual/tutorial/atlas-free-tier-setup/#create-free-tier-manual Should let the user know that they can substitute any name for <DATABASE>, and MongoDb creates it for them automatically if it does not exist. This resolves the new-user confusion on how to connect to a database that does not yet exist. |

andrew.davidson, I agree. Do you think that until we can hide the database/collection artifacts from users in our applications and tools that, in this tutorial, it's necessary to explain what a database is and why we need to specify it here? |
