Currently, our documentation on Index Prefix Compression is poor: We only talk about it on the Wired Tiger Storage Engine page, and there is only a glossary entry. This is a topic covered as a part of the MongoDB Curriculum examinations, and is generally an important aspect of MongoDB Wired Tiger's compression functionality. Recommend expanding on index prefix compression at least on that page, and creating some cross-links in the relevant index pages. See the following blog post for a discussion on index prefix compression as material to work from: https://www.mongodb.com/blog/post/new-compression-options-mongodb-30 |
