 Description

As part of SERVER-29334 and SERVER-24174, the server no longer rejects fields with dots or embedded $-prefixed field names. The naming restrictions should be updated to indicate that while dots/$-prefixed fields are allowed, they should be used with care as it's not possible to issue queries over them (captured in SERVER-30575).
