I guess the document has a slight issue about Configure Local Mode for Ops Manager Servers. Because usually the archived binaries needed for backup daemon are extracted in the same directory with the archived binaries, if you do chmod -R 640 <path-to-the-versions-directory>/*, the extracted files such as mongod under the same directory lose executable permission, therefore the initial backup fails. So it is recommended to give extra note about this in the document. Thanks. |
