Hi Docs team,
We'd like to include instructions for connecting from IBM Cognos to BI Connector. They have certified the BI Connector for their platform. seth.payne@mongodb.com will provide support.
Thanks. |

Hi dana.groce, The web version of Cognos does not support ODBC. Steve and I are unable to track down a working download of the Cognos developer/desktop application. We tried this URL (both Download Director and HTTP methods), but we just receive an error (see attached screenshot 2018-07-18, I tried again today to be sure). I also read something about getting Cognos from IBM's Passport Advantage service. When I logged into that with my IBM account I was prompted for a "Site number" and "Business justification" which I do not know (see attached passport-advantage.png). Do we have a company or "Business Partner" passport advantage account I can try? To unblock this ticket, we need a Cognos installer or verified instructions on how to download Cognos. Thanks & Regards, |

seth.payne I haven't used Cognos myself so I wouldn't be much help. The certification work we did with Nigel was trough his reporting of bugs in Jira. |

bryan.reinero – any guidance here? I haven't had a chance to dig into Cognos quite yet. |

cc: dana.groce Which version of Cognos are we talking about here? As far as I can tell the only trial version available is the one that runs in a web browser and only accepts local data files as input (.csv files and such), which isn't compatible with BI Connector. https://www.ibm.com/products/cognos-analytics There's something called Cognos Business Intelligence Developer Edition which claims to have a desktop version, but I couldn't find any way to download it. If anyone has a link to a trial version of the desktop edition, please let me know.
