Hello! GitHub uses a library called Licensee to identify a project's license type. It shows this information in the status bar and via the API if it can unambiguously identify the license. Licensee is currently unable to recognize MongoDB's license type. The README indicates that:
A simple fix (to address the Licensee issue) would rename the GNU-AGPL-3.0.txt file to LICENSE. However, we will also need to address the presence of the APACHE-2.0.txt, perhaps by adding a note to the README. For comparison purposes, here is the output that I get when I run Licensee locally on MongoDB's remote repo:
And here is the output that I get when I run Licensee on the update-branch of my local MongoDB clone (in which I have renamed GNU-AGPL-3.0.txt to LICENSE):
