 Description

Description

Excel on Mac requires 64-bit Office. We currently document the command to figure out which bitness (64-bit or 32-bit) is installed but the output when you have 32-bit installed is not straight forward.

Scope of changes (files that need work and how much)

We need to highlight the specific output from this command:

file -N /Applications/Microsoft\ Excel.app/Contents/MacOS/Microsoft\ Excel

Add a results table similar to:

What's on:

Return value Meaning
Mach-O 64-bit executable x86_64 64-bit binary
Mach-O executable i386 32-bit binary
Mach-O 64-bit executable x86_64
Mach-O executable i386
FAT binary (compatible with both 32-bit and 64-bit processes)
