Updated versions of the drivers or shell will send OP_MSGs with checksums and the server will respond in kind. The work to update drivers is not yet scheduled, however.

Yeah. Starting in MongoDB 4.2, servers will exchange checksummed messages with each other, and the shell will exchange checksummed messages with the server. Any server that's not upgraded will ignore checksums. Drivers won't produce or consume checksummed messages yet. If you want to document all that then go for it, if you want to just delete the note that sounds like a more appropriate choice for our readers.

I think this ticket means that theĀ  Checksum section no longer needs the note?

jesse does that sound like the correct interpretation of SERVER-28679?
