 Description

Description

Retryable reads are not documented anywhere in the main manual. There are some mentions of the feature in the driver docs, but even those refer to the spec document for details. There ought to be more details in the main manual and in the driver manuals.

Spec: https://github.com/mongodb/specifications/blob/master/source/retryable-reads/retryable-reads.rst

I've linked to the code review. If anyone would like to jump in, feel free. Please note again that I am strictly limiting the scope of this review to summarizing the feature's availability and a list of read ops.

Comment by Brett Gray [ 22/Jan/20 ]

Is there a timeline for this feature to make it into our documentation?

Retryable Reads is supported back to server version 3.6.0 as long as you're using a 4.2-compatible driver. At the moment, the best source of information on retryable reads is the spec.
