The default value for bind_ip in mongos/mongod is documented as "localhost (i.e. 127.0.0.1 address.)". In fact, the default is to listen on all available interfaces (INADDR_ANY / 0.0.0.0), see the relevant code excerpt. (Note that some mongodb packages ship with a default configuration file that includes bind_ip = 127.0.0.1 – not relevant to the default command-line options, though) |
