Description

Downstream Change Summary

This ticket removes the deprecation of the $currentDate update modifier. This deprecation was made during the 4.3 development cycle and does not exist in any non-development releases.

Description of Linked Ticket

The proposed replacement for $currentDate is pipeline-style updates with $$NOW. This may not be a practical replacement for some users in MongoDB 4.4 as pipeline-style updates generate replacement-style oplog entries with the potential to be much larger than those generated for $currentDate.
