Descriptionhttps://docs.mongodb.com/v4.0/reference/program/mongorestore/#cmdoption-mongorestore-preserveuuid I read the mongorestore document about --preserveUUID and it did not mention that it would not work with mongos. A TSE advised me that applyOps would not work with mongos. Another thing, for replica set, it never mentioned that it requires forceUUID privilege for it to work and I need to grant restore role to my test user for it work.
