I like the new replica states page: http://docs.mongodb.org/manual/reference/replica-states/ However, the RECOVERING section should also mention that running the compact command will put a secondary into RECOVERING, see warning box here: http://docs.mongodb.org/manual/reference/command/compact/#replica-sets Similarly, the replSetMaintenance command will also put a member into RECOVERING: http://docs.mongodb.org/manual/reference/command/replSetMaintenance/ |
