My initial commit will only contain updates to the reference material (i.e. that of mongosniff and the diaglog options.) While I understand the potential for documenting this (and diaglogging in general) in the Monitoring Documentation: (i.e. http://docs.mongodb.org/manual/administration/monitoring/) at the same time I'm disinclined to include it in actual administrative documentation, given it's use and the scope of the documentation. To add diaglog to the monitoring docs we'd need to write a lot about how to interpret this output, when to collect it, and how to derive meaning from this data, which is a huge project somewhat separate from this task. |
