 Description

I learnt that mongodump and mongorestore can be used for point in time recovery.
Say we take Mongo dumps at 11 PM everyday. In case there is an issue at 8 AM and want to do a point in time restore, how would I do it.

Hi Stephen,
We currently have replica set, we are looking forward towards having sharded cluster.
Thanks
Siva

Hi Siva,

The SERVER project is for reporting MongoDB bugs or feature requests. I've moved this question to the DOCS project which is more relevant to the usage of the tools. We do not currently have a detailed tutorial for point-in-time backup/restore.

What sort of MongoDB deployment do you have (standalone, replica set, sharded cluster)?

Regards,
Stephen

Hi Dan,
Do you have any information for me?
Thanks
Siva
