The grey nav box pushes the content below, sometimes completely offscreen. Consider either collapsing by default on mobile or providing option to collapse like nav in masthead |

The navigation bar collapses when the viewport width is < ~980px. The normal behavior for standard screens is for the nav bar to float left. |

When the display is landscape the nav is compact and floats left. Only in portrait does it expand to fill the column. Could you make it float left? Is there a specific point where JS or CSS styles to fill the column? |

I agree that the expanding navigation bar isn't mobile-friendly. How about for now we make the sidebar collapsible as an option and store that setting as a cookie so that the configuration persists between sessions. |

Obviously I meant "nav" but iOS cheerfully changed that to naval. |
