 Description

The grey nav box pushes the content below, sometimes completely offscreen. Consider either collapsing by default on mobile or providing option to collapse like nav in masthead

The navigation bar collapses when the viewport width is < ~980px. The normal behavior for standard screens is for the nav bar to float left.

When the display is landscape the nav is compact and floats left. Only in portrait does it expand to fill the column. Could you make it float left? Is there a specific point where JS or CSS styles to fill the column?

I agree that the expanding navigation bar isn't mobile-friendly.

How about for now we make the sidebar collapsible as an option and store that setting as a cookie so that the configuration persists between sessions.

Obviously I meant "nav" but iOS cheerfully changed that to naval.
