| Description |
|
http://docs.mongodb.org/manual/core/backups/ We need to make the page much more simple and focused on concrete aspects of backup solutions rather than abstract concepts relevant to backups. While the current conceptual information is largely correct, it's difficult for readers to attach that information to their applications and deployments, and a revision of this document should make this more clear. The structure of the page should be: 1. <introduction> 2. Backup Methods:
Each section should discuss: requirements, use-cases, considerations (benefits, restrictions) when used with standalones/replica sets/sharded clusters as appropriate, and link to the appropriate tutorial or tutorials for the method. 3. (Optional.) Additional information as needed. It's possible that we won't need this section, but it might be required to cover some of the general details about backing up a sharded cluster. |
