On the Replica Set Election page, the Election Triggering Events section lists the conditions that cause elections and primary stepdowns. However, replica set reconfiguration (apart from purely additive reconfigs) may also cause elections. The only place I could find a mention of this is hidden in a small note at the bottom of the Replica Set Configuration page. |
