"The names of indexes [...] cannot be longer than 125 characters." http://docs.mongodb.org/manual/reference/method/db.collection.ensureIndex/#db.collection.ensureIndex Defines the max length as 128 characters. This seems to be in line with what mongodb reports when trying to create an index with a too long name: { "serverUsed" : "localhost/127.0.0.1:27017" , "err" : "ns name too long, max size is 128" , "code" : 10080 , "n" : 0 , "connectionId" : 93 , "ok" : 1.0} |
