MMS Backup needs a conceptual overview section that explains at a high level (ideally with pictures) what MMS Backup is (a service to allow you to safely and securely backup your MongoDB databases while they are live in a supported manner) how it works (we use the oplog etc.) and how the cloud and on-prem versions are related and why you would use one or the other. |

At the moment, we have http://info.mongodb.com/rs/mongodb/images/MongoDB_MMSBackup_Datasheet.pdf I just checked & we don't have anything planned right now with the level of detail you've requested but I can bring it up in the next PM meeting. I don't expect the effort to be huge; if we decide to do a whitepaper, it'll be a relatively short one. |
