 Description

This is for the step 4 in the document to bind groups to daemons:

4. In On-Prem MongoDB Management Service, select the Admin and then select Backup. Do the following:

  • Select Daemons and ensure there are two daemons listed.
  • Select Blockstores. Add a blockstore with the hostname and port for Data Center 2 and click Save.
  • Select Sync Stores. Add a sync store with the hostname and port for Data Center 2 and click Save.
  • Select Oplog Stores. Add an oplog store with the hostname and port for Data Center 2 and click Save.

After clicking the Save button to add new Blockstores, Sync Stores and Oplog Stores, user should also click the "ASSIGNMENT ENABLED" checkbox to enable assignments for them. Otherwise, after we bind the MMS group to these new Blockstores, Sync Stores and Oplog Stores, and enable backup for the replica set/sharded cluster in that MMS group, it will fail with:

Could not find an available OplogStore
or:
Could not find an available SyncStore

Yes. I don't think the 2.0 docs should change as part of this ticket.

In 1.8, a note to confirm that they check the "assignment enabled" box (if they want new jobs to go to that store) is a good addition
In 2.0, there is no more sync store, but also the actual screen to add a new block/oplog store asks if assignment should be enabled, so this is less of an issue.
