These instructions do not work - either the non manual or manual steps. In Windows 8.1 64 bit, I get error that service will require dbpath. Please update to be more specific about the need to implement one service per MongoDB instance and requiring a specific default DB instance. |

Not sure if the docs may be out of date with how service setup works now. We do say this, which seems to cover that one service per instance is required: "If needed, you can install services for multiple instances of mongod.exe or mongos.exe. Install each service with a unique --serviceName and --serviceDisplayName. Use multiple instances only when sufficient system resources exist and your system design requires it." |
