seems to me like env variables on the mac have to be written into .bash_profile, not .bashrc |

I just tested this - indeed on Yosemite, logged in with a freshly created user, new Terminal.app windows run bash without sourcing .bashrc, but they do source .bash_profile. I believe even in cases when .bashrc is run, .bash_profile is usually run as well, so it should be safe to instruct people to update .bash_profile instead. I'll submit a PR. |
