 Description

The following question came up from a Cloud Manager user, and it may become a frequent one in the future.
How do I change my instance type for a host provisioned by Cloud Manager Automation?

You can always add a new node to the replica set and remove one after, however the following is much easier:

From the EC2 UI console:

  • select the instance
  • stop the instance
  • select Action/Instance Settings/Change Instance Type
  • select the new instance type from the pull down menu
  • start the instance
