As per https://docs.mongodb.org/v3.0/release-notes/3.0-upgrade/ , it is not totally clear that for default /etc/mongod.conf file, to specify wiredTiger as storage engine one has to provide: storageEngine=wiredTiger and not storage.engine: wiredTiger The dot notation is only for YAML config file. The user in CS-19050 ran into confusion due to this. |
