| Description |

Isn't the "Connections between Agents and Ops Manager" section superseded by a separate page (https://docs.opsmanager.mongodb.com/v1.6/tutorial/configure-ssl-connection-to-web-interface/) that details how to set that up? This content seems out of date. Allison's To Do Notes:

A very good point! I'm adding a bit to the description of the ticket to make sure I update that. Thanks! |

I see how the two parts are split but it's confusing to have to click on the the "SSL" link listed under the column for the communicating with mongod to find the content on how to configure the agent to communicate with Ops Manager using SSL. Also, this content seems out of date:
I don't need an HTTPS proxy anymore do I? And why would the SSL docs for mongod and mongos tell me anything about setting up the agent to talk to Ops Manager? |

Not exactly. The "Configure SSL Connection to Web Interface" tutorial, which would probably benefit from a better title, configures Ops Manager to run over SSL, while the Connections between Agents and Ops Manager tutorials configure the Agents to use SSL when connecting to Ops Manager. That said, the SSL stuff is being largely rewritten for Ops Manager 1.8 (since there is now a GUI flow for setting it all up). Some of the improvements will be included in the 1.6 docs, and I'll attempt to make the nuance clearer as part of that. |
