 Description

The getting started page says to just download and start, but doesn't give directions for either. Then I come to this page to start after finishing installation and when I type ./bin/mongo from

/C/Program Files/MongoDB

or

C:\Program Files\MongoDB\Server\3.0\bin

I get this returned: sh: ./bin/mongo: No such file or directory

Hi Kyle –
for windows, the http://docs.mongodb.org/v3.0/tutorial/install-mongodb-on-windows/#connect-to-mongodb may provide more guidance on using the mongo shell to connect to a running mongod instance.

You may also find https://docs.mongodb.org/getting-started/shell/client/ helpful in learning to use MongoDB.

The page you mentioned is scheduled to undergo a significant rewrite/updates. Apologies for the confusion.

Regards.
