There are multiple issues with the the documentation under http://docs.mongodb.org/manual/administration/sharding/#set-up-a-sharded-cluster Firstly, in step three it tells the user to start three mongos processes, and to start them with the configdb parameter of themselves. Unsure why we are asking the user to start three mongos instances, and then identifying them each as configsvr's. Secondly, we never actually tell the user to start any mongod processes that aren't mongos or configsvr's. It would be impossible for a user to create a working sharded cluster with these instructions, as there would be nowhere to actually store the data. |
